Los Angeles, CA The California Landscape Contractors Association Los Angeles/San Gabriel Chapter, (CLCA), in conjunction with BeverlyHillsPeople.com is hosting an interactive community "Green Expo" at the historic Greystone Mansion, in Beverly Hills California.

The Green Expo will be an educational experience for California residents and business owners. The California water crisis has heightened concern for the entire state. The Green Expo will be an outreach opportunity to network information, learn sustainable living techniques and support the California Green Movement.

The Green Expo will also showcase celebrities who support the Green Movement. The CLCA will present special gardening awards to celebrities who have made outstanding contributions to sustainability. The "Green Messenger" award will be presented to a celebrity who has heightened awareness about drought tolerant landscaping. The "Green Image Award" will be presented to a celebrity whose image exemplifies the California Garden Lifestyle. Sheryl Crow has agreed to personally receive one of the CLCA’s first “Green Image Awards” at the expo. Kyle Maclachlan, Rene Russo, Tiffani Thiessen, and Jessica Simpson are just a few celebrities that are currently being considered for their eco-friendly resident gardens.

The interactive Green Expo will build strong community relationships with landscape professionals. Local and national eco-friendly vendors will exhibit water-wise technology, sustainable products, gardening tips and compost solutions at the Green Expo. Residents will learn how to save water, energy, and money all while being part of the global warming solution. Corporate sponsors, Toro Sprinklers, Advantage Light Source (Led and fluorescent bulbs) and Eagle Solar Roofing will be on hand to demonstrate their water-wise smart timers and energy efficient solar panels.

As a show of commitment to the California water crisis the CLCA plans to donate their landscaping expertise to the Beverly Hills School system and the Los Angeles Unified School District, LAUSD. The CLCA will offer a school “beautification day” headed by some of their environmentally conscious landscape contractors. This is a great way to bring the community together in a positive way to benefit schools and children. The CLCA is motivated to help correct the California water crisis and developing environmentally conscious design plans that will benefit all of Los Angeles.

To maximize this “Green” opportunity, the CLCA has developed special sponsorship packages for corporate donors. In return for their support, the CLCA will align their celebrity guest, eco-friendly contract designers, and corporate sponsors to cross-promote the Los Angeles environmental crisis. The CLCA will produce, direct and edit celebrities PSA to help promote the California water crisis. Corporate sponsors can gain “Green” visibility through the CLCA celebrity produced video features.

Landscape designer and licensed landscape contractor Jon Goldstein believes "planting trees and water conservation is the best way to reverse the trends of global warming". Jon Goldstein is the CEO of Jonny Appleseed Landscaping Inc. and member of the LASGV chapter of the CLCA.

The CLCA has already received support from environmentally conscious organizations. The California Native Plant Society in conjunction with the Theodore Payne Foundation will host a green family event at the expo. The CLCA is a non-profit organization of licensed landscape-related contractors. Since 1952, the CLCA has been an active force in statewide effort to conserve water.
