The city of Beverly Hills Community Service Department is actively taking charge, planting a decorated heal into the greener city of tomorrow. In response to the contemporary growing world environmental crisis, this starlit city will launch its endorsement of a green community at the city’s most acclaimed event of the year. From October 26-November 11, the historic Greystone Mansion will open its’ gates exclusively for the 2007 Beverly Hills Garden and Design Showcase (presented by the STYLE Network), and for the first time, the grounds will be transformed into “green” sustainable masterpiece designs.
We invite you to attend this magnificent event, long known for its ASID Los Angeles Chapter leading interior designers and exterior landscape designers. On Friday, October 26, 2007 (from 2-4 pm) the press will be given private tours of the garden vignettes, interviews with the brilliant designers and city reps on their inspirations for the green designs.
This year’s eco-friendly theme of green/sustainable design has sprouted from the growing awareness that inspires us to reduce the use of non-renewable resources. In hopes that the progressive green design concept will continue to branch out and blossom, the city of Beverly Hills has challenged the Exterior Designers to use their ingenuity to harmonize beauty with sustainability. The Sponsors/Contributors include The Garden Gallery and Smith & Hawken Store in Beverly Hills.
This year the renowned exterior landscape designers include James Alexander of Alexander Exterior Design, Kristi Blicharski of Flora Bella Gardens, CJ Forray of Cottage Garden Design, Yu-Chien Liao, Paula Henson, Maria Kane Garden Design, Brent Green, Joan Grabel of Park Slope Design, Paul Langh Garden Design, Alfonso Mellior of Mellior Creative Gardening, Jay Rodriguez, and the designers of Pacific Outdoor Living.
