As I walked in to Donald J. Pliner boutique located on Camden Drive in Beverly Hills, the first thing I noticed was the comfortable atmosphere. The decor of the boutique was embellished with unique artifacts creating a Southwestern feel integrated with an African disposition.
Eager to meet Donald himself, I waited patiently while he mingled with each one of his guests, making sure everyone felt welcome and valued.
While waiting for my formal introduction to Donald, I decided to browse around the boutique. I came across an assortment of stunning shoes that were definitely to my taste. I was even more impressed once I tried them on and found out how incredibly comfortable they were. In the midst of my shoe excursion, stylishly dressed Pliner came up and introduced himself to me, right off the bat asking me if I had seen the dressing room. When I responded no, with a curious look on my face, Donald escorted me into the dressing room, and slowly shut the automatic door. I found myself in a mesmerizing room with 360 degrees of mirrors surrounding me. I saw infinite images of myself every which way I turned. When the door finally opened there was Donald, full of smiles inquiring my experience. To say the least, I thought it was pretty wild.
Donald prides himself on the quality of COMFORT his fashion offers. He is a strong believer in comfort before glitz. Donald has gone to great lengths to build comfort in his shoes. Almost every style of Donald J. Pliner shoes has some elastic in it, whether hidden or used as the primary fabric for a shoe. |

Contentment isn’t just within his shoes, but also in his prices. Made with the finest materials and in depth craftsmanship you would image his prices point would be comparable to high-end designers, but on the contrary. Donald J. Pliner pieces are reasonably priced, for everyone’s comfort.
For this spring, Pliner crosses casual to dressy with ease. Pliner states, “With the colors of kiwi, turquoise, cobalt, gold and rich jewel tones, this season collection was designed to embody a more casual lifestyle. Profiles are made dramatic with embroidery; studs, glam rocks and grommets add detailing while embossed and distressed metallic leathers lend character. Jackets are fabricated in some of the softest Italian glove leathers and perforated for ventilation. Short hug-me jackets for her and character embroidered bomber jackets for him. Diversified handbags include, clutches, hobos, bigger than big pouches that will carry you throughout the weekend.”
Donald J. Pliner launched his 2006 spring collection, "A Toast To Spring" on recent Saturday . Along with debuting his new line, the event helped raise money for the Planet Hope foundation. Pliner donated 10% of the day’s sales to the organization; in addition he doubled the proceeds with apparel donations from Donald J. Pliner. The event allured enthusiastic costumers, many of which Donald says have been his most dedicated patrons for many years. He, his beautiful wife Lisa, and their adorable little maltese, Baby Doll, hosted the charming occasion with champagne and tasty Hor d'Ouerves for all of their guests. |

Donald J Pliner began his career as a designer at a very young age. He followed in his father footsteps, who was a shoemaker and a business owner himself. 35 years ago Donald rose to retail prominence with the Right Bank Clothing Co. Located on Camden Drive, one block away from his current boutique. In 1998 men’s footwear was introduced to his line. What started as basic shoes made mostly of elastic has evolved into luxurious footwear for men and women, leatherwear for men and women, handbags, and belts.
In 2004, Donald has launched Friends of Baby Doll Pliner, a collection featuring outerwear, collars, leashes, harnesses, day carriers, and FAA approved airline carriers for dogs up to 20 pounds. Donald states, “Whatever we do for two legged we do for four legged.” |
